Halloween Time!

First off, Happy Halloween! We hope your day is filled with some goodies from work and from your kids’ candy bag!

Do you know the origins of Halloween? Below describes the true origins of what we know as Halloween today.

From History.com

“Halloween is an annual holiday, celebrated each year on October 31, that has roots in age-old European traditions. It originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints; soon, All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. The evening before was known as All Hallows Eve, and later Halloween. Over time, Halloween evolved into a day of activities like trick-or-treating and carving jack-o-lanterns. Around the world, as days grow shorter and nights get colder, people continue to usher in the season with gatherings, costumes and sweet treats.”

For Halloween this year, at the office we decided to have a costume and office decorating competition. Some of our favorite costumes we saw were The the Mad Hatter, a nun and a character from Harry Potter as well as many more!

Our designer decided to have a little fun with our logo as he wanted to have a Halloween spooky version of it.

Below are some pictures from our decorating contest within the office.

We all had fun this year with dressing up to some of our favorite characters and munching all day on the great food that people brought in. We had some roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin cupcakes, awesome salsa and many more goodies. We had more than enough to go around everyone had to bring some home.

Remember to be safe, but absolutely make sure you and your children have fun. This is a special time of year and a fun time with the kids that both you and your kids will remember for years to come.
